A specialised tool designed to create precise, vertical holes
in compacted soil, aggregate, or asphalt for in-place nuclear
density gauges. It consists of a steel drill rod and a sliding
weight (hammer) that impacts a driver cap to drive the rod into
the material, typically to a depth of at least 50mm
deeper than the required testing depth
